The Palomar XD Optic Laser Technology
Groundbreaking new treatment for Scarring and Stretch Marks
Palomar extends its leadership position in Fractional Non-Ablative and Ablative Skin Resurfacing Technology through the introduction of the new XD Optic (Extra Deep Optic) for the Lux1440(TM) fractional non-ablative laser handpiece, providing deeper skin resurfacing treatments through deeper columns of micro-damage.
The unique fractional delivery method of Point Compression allows for significantly deeper penetration of light while providing a decreased heating of the Dermal/Epidermal junction and papillary dermis; lower absorption at the epidermis as water and blood are displaced from the beam region under point of compression; and lower scattering through the flattening of collagen structures thereby causing smaller refractive index variations.
The introduction of the XD Optic, for use with the Lux1440(TM) fractional ablative laser, provides lines of fractional ablation. The XD Optic offers results approaching the gold standard full-surface ablation treatment but with the minimal downtime of a fractional treatment.
By changing the shape of the micro areas of ablative damage from "dot" to "line", the pattern of treatment can now be correlated with that of wrinkles. With multiple passes, a faster, more uniform coverage can also be realized.
The Lux1440 is TGA approved for skin resurfacing and treatment of wrinkles, stretch marks and scarring, lines and wrinkles(ASCM newsletter Autumn 2009).
